National Law Enforcement Apprecition Day
Since Thursday, January 9th was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we wanted to get to know our very own Resource Officer, Jim Saltzman. A Resource Officer is a deputy that goes to schools and is there for any problems and to keep us safe. Here are some questions we asked him!
What made you want to become a Deputy/ Resource Officer?
I have always wanted to help people.
What is one of your favorite things about your job?
Getting to talk to students and staff and going to different schools and helping them out with problems.
How long have you worked in law enforcement?
I’ve worked in law enforcement for 14 years.
What does your daily job entail?
Traveling to the four schools I work at and talking to students and staff. I also do traffic safety and investigating complaints.
What do you do in your time outside of work?
I play basketball with my sons and hang out with friends and family. I also keep pretty busy volunteering with the fire department.
What is a fun fact about you?
Salted caramel ice cream is my favorite snack.
