Closure For The Class Of 2020

After 12 years of hard work and dedication, the Senior Class of 2020 has been somewhat robbed of a proper graduation year. Due to the coronavirus, proms around the world have been postponed or cancelled, graduations have been changed completely, and the last few months of the school year have been completely derailed. For seniors, this year was supposed to signify the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter, but with the problems that have arisen, it has been anything but a happy ending. These complications can make it hard for the Senior Class to have closure on the last 12 years of education. This chapter of their life is closing, but it is almost as if a few words or stories are missing from it. Closure can be very helpful while big life changes are happening and without it moving on can be challenging. With this in mind, we have compiled a short list of ways to send off this chapter for the Class of 2020 and to get a sense of closure.

  1. Planning For The Future.
    • Looking forward is a great way to let go of the past. Decide what is of importance to you for your future and find a way to get excited for it. Even though the last year of high school was a little rocky does not mean the next story has to start on the wrong foot!
  2. Sky Lanterns
    • This way of sending off a chapter of life is fun and easy. First you will need a sky lantern. Then write anything about the last 12 years that is weighing on your mind and send it off into the sky. This signifies the end of something old and an opening for something new.
  3. Take Your Time
    • Letting go of things in life takes time. You can’t fully be content with moving on until you are internally ready to.
