Making a Change

By: Adelyn Lafferty

During the last week, the French National Honor Society put on a change war to help raise money for Heifer International. Heifer International’s mission is to work with communities to create income, empower women, care for the earth, and ultimately end world hunger and poverty by providing livestock and training to struggling communities.  Each class period was named after an animal that is able to be bought through the organization. Second period, Les Cochons (The Pigs), and third period, Les Canards (The Ducks), won this year. In total, $396.73 was raised between all of the French and Spanish students. To learn more about Heifer International, go to the following link: https://www.heifer.org/. Thank you to all the students and teachers who donated!

It is hard to believe but the time has arrived for our 1923 Arlington School Building to be taken down.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to take down the building.

The demolition of the building will begin on Monday, June 22.  Crews will work extended hours to get the building down in a short two-week period rather than a longer two-month period.

For those interested, outside of the construction fence, there will be a pile of bricks where you are welcome to take a souvenir brick.  Bricks will only be available for two weeks and will then be cleaned up.

Please mark August 1st at 10:00 am on your calendar for our dedication to the new building.
