New School Building Update: Soil Stabilization and Building Pad Completion
We are excited to share significant progress in the construction of the new school building. Over the past several weeks, our construction team has made remarkable progress, ensuring the foundation (sub-grade below the building pad) of the project is both stable and prepared for the next stages of building.
One of the most critical steps recently completed is the soil stabilization process. This phase involved carefully testing and treating the site’s soil to ensure a solid and stable sub-grade under the pad for the building. The process involved carefully treating the soil to improve its load-bearing capacity and prevent future settling. Advanced techniques, including the use of stabilizing agents like Lime Kiln Dust (LKD) and cement, along with compaction, were applied to mitigate any risks of settling or shifting, safeguarding the long-term integrity of the site. This round of soil stabilization also included the driveways and the west parking lot. With soil stabilization successfully finalized, the focus turned to completing the building pad. The building pad serves as the level and solid base upon which the school building will be constructed. This milestone included grading and compacting the area to precise specifications, ensuring a perfectly even surface. With the building pad completed, we are now ready to move
forward with the next phase of construction, which includes laying the foundation for the new school building.
We are excited that the building pad is now ready, marking the transition to the next phase of construction which would include sanitary sewer, storm sewer and deep plumbing installation. This progress represents a collaborative effort between RDJ, Robertson, Fanning/Howey, the OFCC, and the District, all working diligently to keep us on schedule and aligned with our vision. Thank you for your continued support as we bring this project to life. The completion of soil stabilization and the building pad is a testament to our commitment to creating a safe and inspiring learning environment for our students. Stay tuned for more updates as construction advances!
