 January Senior of the Month

Ava Altman

Family
Ava is the daughter of Dave and Alaina Altman and Evan is her younger brother. Her favorite family tradition is at Christmas time. After Christmas dinner, she enjoys the array of cookies different family members bring to the party. Her favorite childhood memory was of a summer day with Evan. They were running through the sprinklers so long mud puddles started to form. Before they knew it, they were wielding mud at each other! Ava’s mom is her role model, "She is my role model because throughout my life she has shown me what working hard, determination, and strength will do for you. Without her always reminding me, 'You can do hard things,' I wouldn't be where I am now.”

Extracurricular Activities, Volunteering, and Work
Ava is a member of Choir and Loud Crowd. She is also a student helper for Miss Reinhart. She has volunteered her time for the recycling club, Music Booster concessions, caroling with the choir, and Seussical the Musical as the lights coordinator. Her favorite high school memory was Arts Fest. She had a blast learning the Grease and Disney music and dances along with her friends.

Enjoyment and the Future….
In her free time, Ava enjoys exercising at the gym and hanging out with her friends, family, and boyfriend, Zander. She also has a part-time job at Bellacino’s Pizza and Grinders and babysits four very funny girls! As her senior year progresses, she is looking forward to creating more memories with the wonderful people in her life! In the fall, Ava plans to attend Bowling Green State University and major in social work. Once she earns her undergraduate degree, she wants to pursue a master’s degree in school counseling. Her ultimate goal is to become an elementary school counselor. Congratulations and best wishes Ava!

What the staff has to say about Ava:

  • “Ava always has a great attitude, participates, and asks questions as needed. Ava is a role model for what a true red devil should be and I know she will do great things in life. Congratulations Ava and remember, it's pronounced Bellachinos and not Bellaseenos.”

  • “Ava has shown excellence and dedication throughout her high school journey! Her kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond make her a shining example for others to follow. I am confident she will continue to thrive and inspire in all her future endeavors. As my student helper for the last few years, I will miss her dearly when she graduates.”

  • “Ava is a unique student. She absolutely gives it her all every day. I have never seen a student work so hard and it's not because she doesn't understand but because she has the want and drive to perform well. Ava also has a wonderful personality - so kind and considerate!”
