Teacher of the Quarter

November 14, 2022

By Kate Ernst

Mr. Buckholdt was voted the first Teacher of the Quarter by our students! Here is what the students have to say about Mr. B:

"He makes the long drive everyday to get to the school, and stays after school to help students learn what they need to work on. He works extremely hard to make everything work out for the band(s) and has adapted extremely well to the environment of being new to the school."

"He has managed to bring together the All Brass despite his short time here and has managed to produce a strong bond with the students of the school and help boost the live of music in the school's community."

"He has never failed to make me feel included and check up on me when I was having an off day. He is so considerate of everyone's lives and time and made sure this years' seniors had the best year. Thank you Mr. B for everything you do, it does not go unnoticed! #redpride"

We asked him some questions to get to know him better!

What is your favorite holiday and why?

Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of the only times I am able to see my extended family.

What activities do you participate in outside of school?

I play basketball with some other dads from my church.

When you were a child, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a marine biologist. I have always loved the ocean and as a kid I wanted to explore the oceans.

What have you learned from teaching?

This is a hard question for me to answer. I have learned a lot as a teacher, especially these past two years. I think the most important thing I have learned as a teacher is to not stress the little things in life. Life is too short to stress about things outside of my control.

If you could choose how to spend one day doing whatever you'd like to do, what would you do?

I would spend the day relaxing. I would watch TV and play video games on my Nintendo Switch.
