Congratulations to our April Senior of the Month, Evelyn Flick

What the staff has to say about Evelyn Flick :

  •         “Evelyn works really hard and is incredibly dedicated to so many different organizations. She is very intelligent and determined to always do her best. Her artistic as well as academic skills have been a great asset to the school throughout her time here.”
  •         “Evelyn is a hard worker both academically and in cheerleading and Loud Crowd.  She always give 100% and has been a pleasure to have in my classroom and on the cheer squad for the last 3 years.  You can see her artistic qualities all over the school in her many ceiling tiles she has created the past 2 years on the Spirit Squad.  Good Luck Evelyn in all you do!!!”
  •         “Evelyn has been a dedicated member of the cheer squad throughout high school and served as a leader for the other squad members.  Evelyn is going to do great things in college and beyond!”

Let’s get to know Evelyn a little better!

  • What is your all-time favorite class you’ve taken here at Arlington? Why would you recommend upcoming high schoolers to take it?

I can’t pick between choir and french. In choir, you’ll get to spend a ton of time with your friends outside of school, sing every day, and make friends with people you would have never talked to otherwise. Also, every month, Mrs. Griffin brings in her homemade cookies (the best in the entire world) and celebrates the birthdays! French is so much fun because you are not only learning a new language to communicate with people you never could have before, but you are also learning about the culture, different countries, and you get to have tons of parties.

  • How did you become interested in music?

I have just always loved music from a young age, and I started taking harp lessons from Nancy Glick in 4th grade. From there, my oldest brother, Ben, convinced me to join band, and I played the saxophone. In junior high, I joined choir. Once I got into high school choir, I did the solo and ensemble events, and have sang many solos at concerts the past four years. When I got into high school band, I had to switch instruments quite a few times. I now play a lot of instruments, which are harp, piano, trumpet, french horn, saxophone, mellophone, guitar, and violin.

  • If you could perform on stage with anyone who would it be and why?

I would love to perform on stage with my closest friends, and being in choir and the musicals, I have gotten the opportunity to do that!

  • What will you miss the most about Arlington?

I am going to miss how close I am with my friends and how well I know literally everyone around me.

  • If you could throw food at anyone what kind of food would it be and who would you throw it at?

I would throw peas at Maddy Courtney (because she is terrified of them).
