We’d love for you to get to know Stephanie Bishop!

Stephanie graduated from Arlington in 1996. Stephanie is now the first ever female judge in the Findlay Municipal Court for Hancock county.

Please tell us a little about your occupation..

I am a Judge in Findlay Municipal Court.

“We handle misdemeanor traffic and criminal cases in Findlay Municipal Court as well as civil cases where the demand is under $15,000. We also handle landlord tenant matters and have a small claims docket for cases where the demand is under $6,000.  Our jurisdiction is all of Hancock County excluding Washington Township and the Hancock County portion of Fostoria.

In addition to handling cases, I am also in charge of the operation of the Court, implementation of the programs that we utilize and overseeing all of the staff.”

What do you remember most from Arlington?

I remember and enjoyed being able to get to know everyone in my grade as well as the grades below me and the teachers since the classes are smaller.  I also enjoyed being able to participate in and be involved in many different extracurricular activities.”

What advice would you give to your high school self?

All things happen for a reason. Find the positive in any situation that you find yourself in and make the most of it.  Don't let the negativity of others bring you down.”
