  • Tell me about yourself.

“My name is David Buckholdt. I am from Riverside, Ohio, a small city located Southwest of Dayton. I attended the University of Dayton where I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education. I have been married to my wife Natalie since 2016 and I have two beautiful children. My daughter Lillian is 3 years old and my son Joseph is 6 months old. This is my fifth year of teaching and I am excited to be at Arlington. “

  • What's your favorite thing about being a band director?

“I love most things about being a band director, but my favorite thing has to be seeing the excitement inside the classroom as we learn to play something new or difficult.”

  • What brought you to Arlington?

“The pride, passion, and tradition brought me to Arlington.”

  • Why did you decide to be a band director?

“When I was a junior in high school I knew I wanted to major in music. As a senior, I was an intern for my middle school band teacher. Through this internship, I was able to assist in teaching some of the lessons. I also gave private lessons to some of the struggling students. I fell in love with teaching because of this experience and decided to be a band teacher.”

  • What makes you a good fit for this school?

“My experiences and passion for teaching make me a good fit for Arlington.I have a lot of experience teaching in smaller schools and I specialized in brass instruments in college, which comes in handy.”
