Congratulations to our November Senior of the Month, Emily Durliat!

What the staff has to say about Emily Durliat :

"Encouraging, enthusiastic, selfless, resilient, and organized. These are only a few traits that Senior of the Month, Emily Durliat, displays on a daily basis. She is always wearing a smile and is willing to help out in any way possible. I appreciate Emily's excitement for learning and for her endless positivity. Congratulations, Emily!”

“Emily lights up the room with her energetic personality! She readily helps wherever she can and is a positive role model. Not only does she want to succeed, but she wants to see the same in her classmates.

"Emily is an upbeat and positive student in everything she does. I appreciate that she is always willing to help in the classroom, leadership team, and outside of school. She is a great role model for everyone!”

Let’s get to know Emily a little better!

  • What is your all-time favorite class you’ve taken here at Arlington? Why would you recommend upcoming high schoolers to take it?

My favorite class of all time would definitely be media writing. I love the atmosphere in media writing. You get to meet and know new people. You can also work on your writing skills. You can post things on the website, Instagram, or Facebook pages. I would recommend upcoming high schoolers to take this class because no matter what grade you are in your ideas are always heard with no judgement. Also Mrs. Barger is an incredible teacher that can help you out if you are struggling. I wish more people would join this class because it’s so much fun (plus you can have parties in media writing where you eat food)!

  • If you could meet any celebrity, who would it be and why?

If I could meet any celebrity I would meet Justin Bieber. I would like to meet him because he’s my favorite artist and I love his music.

  • What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self that there will be a lot of challenges in your life but these challenges are only going to make you stronger. Continue to be yourself no matter what anyone tells you. Also don’t forget to appreciate the people who have been there for you.

  • What will you miss the most about Arlington?

I am going to miss all of the great relationships I have formed with my friends and teachers. Being in this small town I have gained a second family that I am going to miss so much.

  • If you could throw food at anyone what kind of food would it be and who would you throw it at?

If I could throw any kind of food it would definitely be my mom's Texas sheet cake. I would throw the cake at my little sister Leah just because she’s a rat!
