February: Senior of the Month

Madi Russell

By: Cayne Essinger

Congratulations to our February Senior of the Month, Madi Russell!

Here are what some of the staff has to say about her:

  •   “Madi is a student that so many others look up to. While she doesn't take life too seriously and has the ability to make everyone laugh, she is very serious about her schoolwork and extracurricular activities. She strives to be the best possible student, athlete, band member, and friend that she can be. She is a joy to be around and has definitely made a positive impact here at Arlington!”

  •   “Madi is a leader who always has a positive attitude.  She is going to do great things beyond her high school years.  She will most definitely be missed on the cheer squad next year.”

  •   “Madi is a warm positive presence in the classroom.  Everyone loves her and she is always a team player whether it is on a lab, Science Olympiad, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, or band.  Congratulations Madi!!!”

  •   “I have witnessed Madison as a student who spends a great amount of time being involved in various school and church activities. She is a genuine and giving young individual. She is always putting the team first and is a positive team leader. Madison is one of our pitchers and works year round to make herself better. We are all looking forward to her senior year on the diamond and expecting great things from her. I am happy for Madison as she is well deserving of the Senior of the Month honor. She is on her way to having a very successful adult life and will be a major asset to society!”

We asked her some questions to get to know her better!

What is your biggest pet peeve? Why?

Not going through with things. When you count on someone to show up or get something done and they don’t it can really screw up your plans.

If there was a food fight, who would you throw food at first and why?

Leah Durliat or Madison Ernst because they 100% said something stupid that hurt my head and so they clearly deserve food thrown at them.

What is your favorite class at Arlington? Why’s that?

Bio 2 because I love Dr. Miller and it was fun learning about the body and dissecting things.

What is your most favorite moment of Senior year so far?

Beating LB in football hehehe

Are you more of a sleep in person or early riser? Why do you prefer that?

Ok, so here’s the dilemma, I like to sleep in until at least 9, but if it is earlier I will not wake up. As you can probably figure out, getting up for school is a struggle. I will however wake up early if it is between 2 and 4 in the morning…Yep.
