The Arlington "ALL-BRASS" Marching Band marched its inaugural season the fall of 1968.  We will celebrate the band's 50th Anniversary the fall of 2018.  Traditions that began in the fall of 1968 are still being observed today, and more recent additions only have served to further the original purpose of the "ALL-BRASS."

Although it has been important to maintain many things from the past, there are some things that have to be replaced. For example, many of the instruments used in the "ALL-BRASS" have seen more years of service than instrument manufacturers designed them to be used.  School owned instruments, when well-maintained, are expected to last between fifteen to twenty years before needing to be replaced.  Some of our instruments are in their fourth decade of use.   There is a strong need to purchase new instruments to replace old horns, and with the upcoming fiftieth anniversary ahead, now is a great time to do it!

Consider this.  If all alumni of the Arlington "ALL-BRASS," from the past fifty years, would each donate $100 to this project, there would be not only enough money to buy new instruments, but also sufficient money to place in an endowment to continue financing instrument purchases in the future.  A similar alumni appeal, in 2004, raised $40,000 in three months to purchase new band uniforms, and that endeavor was prior to the advent of social media!  Consider what impact "ALL-BRASS" alumni and friends would have on this financial project as they contact Facebook friends.  Modest projections could put this effort at no less than $75,000.

Please consider contributing money to replace our older instruments with new instruments - any amount will be helpful.  The number of new instruments purchased will be dependent on the amount received.  Donations do not need to come solely from previous members of the "ALL-BRASS."  Contributions are welcomed from members of the community and other friends of the "ALL-BRASS," donations that will increase the potential of providing more years of community enjoyment and pride in the Arlington "ALL-BRASS" Band.

Alumni, please also consider contacting those with whom you were in the Arlington "ALL-BRASS" and encourage them to contribute also.

All gifts to this Arlington "ALL-BRASS" project can be made by sending checks made out to Arlington Band Project Fifty and sent to
