Lesser Known Staff of Arlington
There are dozens of behind-the-scenes people who diligently work to make our school as inviting and safe as it is. From the wonderful women who fill our bellies to the hard-workers who line the field and keep our facilities clean, they’re people we couldn’t attend school without. In an attempt to shine a spotlight on these amazing people, media writing will be writing a weekly article about a member of the staff. We invite you to read and learn more about these amazing staff members!
This star employee is- Chris Schurr!
We’ve asked Chris some hard-hitting questions to learn more about him:
Name: Chris Schurr
How long have you worked at Arlington: A little over 1 year.
Something you wish the students at the school knew about you, your job, or just life in general: I used to have really long hair. I played sports and was in concert band. I played the trumpet.
What made you choose this job: Being able to do maintenance and the setting of working in a small country school.
What is your least favorite thing to do during work: Cleaning restrooms.
What’s always a pain to clean: The restrooms, the paper hand towels get thrown all over, and the boys' restroom.
What’s your favorite thing to do during your day off: Work around the house or think of something in the garage. Sometimes bowl, shoot pool, target practice.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been: California. I lived there for 8 years and saw amazing cities from north to south California. The downside to California: earthquakes, fires, floods.
What are some small things to make your day better: Smiling at others, hearing other people say thank you, listening to the youngest ones tell me a story about something that happened at school, and getting to know some of the older students.
We’d like to thank Chris and all the others who help our school run smoothly. Come back next week to learn more about the next employee we interview!
