H.A.P.P.Y. Weekend

By: Adelyn Lafferty

H.A.P.P.Y., Hancock Addiction Prevention Program for Youth, is a youth-led leadership program designed to educate youth on school-based prevention strategies. H.A.P.P.Y. members attended H.A.P.P.Y. Weekend on November 17 and 18, at the McComb Church of Christ. The experience promoted an alcohol/drug-free lifestyle and attempted to prevent alcohol and other drug problems during their young lives. Participants attended educational and healthy alternative workshops. Some of the educational workshops included self defense, positive relationships, and a K-9 demonstration unit. Health workshops included Zumba, yoga, and healthy eating. There was also a social time of dancing and bouncy houses, which were the kids’ favorites!  To learn more about H.A.P.P.Y., go to this link! http://www.frcohio.com/project-happy
