High School Choir Presents Fiddler on the Roof - March 31st and April 1st at 7:00 p.m.
What would you do If you were forced to move from the home you’ve always known, or forced to adapt to changing times? What traditions would you let go and what other traditions would you tenaciously retain? This musical opened on Broadway fifty-two years ago in September of 1964. It won nine Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Choreography. The Arlington High School Choir presents Fiddler on the Roof. The story centers on a family of five daughters and the father’s attempts to maintain his Jewish traditions in a world of changes, philosophically and socially. His daughters seek to marry for love, rather than the traditional Jewish system of arranged marriage, and his country’s leaders evict all the Jewish people from their village. Featuring well-known music such as “Tradition”, “Matchmaker, Matchmaker”, and “Sunrise, Sunset” this year’s musical will be an enriching experience for all involved. Performances are March 31st and April 1st @ 7:00 p.m.« Back to General News Releases
